habyt was founded by a practising dentist who kept the one ingredient with decades of evidence behind it — and built a modern formula around it.
The most studied ingredient in oral care
Fluoride is one of the most researched ingredients in dentistry, and its role in protecting teeth against decay is recognised by major health bodies worldwide, including the NHS and the World Health Organization.
It works by supporting the tooth's natural defences — helping enamel stand up to the everyday acids from food and drink that lead to cavities. When much of the market moved to fluoride-free alternatives, we looked at the evidence and made a deliberate choice to keep it. Our toothpaste contains 1450 ppm fluoride, the concentration used in standard adult toothpaste.

Fluoride (1450 ppm)
The core of the formula. Supports enamel and helps defend against decay — the ingredient with the deepest evidence base behind it.
Hydroxyapatite
A mineral closely related to what enamel is naturally made of. We include it to support the tooth surface alongside fluoride — not as a replacement for it.
Gentle stain lifters
Our whitening works by lifting the everyday surface stains left by coffee, tea and wine — helping teeth return to their natural shade. No peroxide, no harsh bleaching.
SLS-free base
We leave out sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), the foaming agent that can irritate some mouths — so the formula stays gentle, including on sensitive teeth.

habyt was founded by Dr Nida Khan, BDS — a practising dentist. That means the formula is led by evidence, not trends, and the claims on this site are ones we can stand behind.
We say what fluoride does and what it doesn't. We describe our whitening as surface-stain removal, because that's what it is. And we don't dress up ingredients as miracle cures. Good oral care isn't complicated — it just has to be honest.
